I did a previous edit of this for fun · https://ut99.org/viewtopic.php?p=72991 · based on a silly idea, but I forgot about these other two until this week.


DesertFox is a fairly large map, with mountains; playspace above and below. Both bases are well fortified, with ample sniping spots around them.

Titans can throw boulders fairly high so it's no mean feat to stay out of range...

...although it's harder to snipe a base with a Warlord in it, as it can fly up to where you are.

Originally I was going to call this "basic" as it's a very basic design...

...but then I remembered I had a bunch of faces of celebs and figured, why not?

Had an Elon Musk face too, but upon closer inspection it needs a LOT of editing before it's ready to go.

Used elements of this before for another skin...

...but I was more thorough in the team colors than the other time.

There used to be a UT-clan called "TnT" with a stylized logo of that explosive on a window in the front & back of the torso...

... but near as I know they're gone now and I thought something better could go in those windows.

Instead of better though, I opted for silly.

Team colors fairly standard, but the icons on the front & back also change for each team color.

Specifically:
· UTDMT.u (Titan) = UTDMT
· UTDM.u (Warlord) = UTDMW
· UTDMskaarjberserker.u (SkaarjBerserker) = UTDMS

Suppose I could've renamed the files but I wanted to avoid file conflicts.

Those are the only ones available for which I'm aware, though I had a chat with OjitroC about possibly configuring more. Most likely the remaining boss type monsters: Queen, Behemoth, SkaarjOfficer. Even jokingly suggested a UTDMP (Pupae) though that's largely silly.

Dixzn's recent post about textureless skins included a request for getting all monster skins for "the playable monster skins". To which I assume he meant for the UTDM-monsters, though there's not a lot of player models for them so much as simply mapping them directly onto maps. Putting skins for use under MyLevel, and configuring the maps for specific usage.

Only 2 player models for the Warlord I know of are seemingly impossible to skin, currently.

Most are ones I found and team colored...

Map originally had no pathing, until I had Nelsona fix that.

It seemed ideal for UTDM-monsters, on a couple levels. As you can see in the selection window it originally had a standard Titan and Queen in the arena, which is why I opted for a UTDMT &  UTDMW. Normal monsters eventually die and don't respawn, having monsters that can respawn makes their potential to get a game to last longer ideal.

Under the arena there's an area with cages for other monsters, common to the theme of a coliseum in any movies involving the Roman Empire... and an exceptional number of BSP issues.

Although it has naught to do with gameplay, nobody really goes down there. I'd toyed with the notion of replacing what's down there with 6 or 7 UTDMS but passed.

There are a couple ways to get into each base, from either side or through the roof.

All in all, a fun little map.

A long term edit I was doing, which fortunately was pretty much done by the time I lost the ability to edit maps.


What we have here is a comic book themed map with 2 bases which are not at all symmetrical. The overall map is, but the bases aren't in the least. Blue Base is styled after the Hall of Justice from DC Comics' Super Friends, while the Red Base is an original design Marvel Comics-themed base stylized on Doctor Doom. Blue Base is low to the groud, Red Base is raised up higher. Blue Base has a fountain out front which is safe, Red Base has a lava pool which is lethal.

Insides of the bases are different too.


Map has UTDM-monsters, 1 inside of each base and 1 outside each. 2 Titans on the Red Team, 1 Warlord & 1 SkaarjBerserker on the Blue Team.

Map also has 2 "super" bots. Now, to be clear, these are NOT aimbots. What's super about them is I took the movement of the fastest Skaarj I had, and I copied that into one of the bots and did similar with the other but with slight variations.

My first foray into compensating for the restriction of team colors on a Star Trek skin.


While it wasn't an overall thing in the TOS episode where the crew found themselves in a parallel reality, a lot of the uniforms did show a lot of arm. This made team colors much easier to handle while keeping to canon material.

Took an initial skin and customized it for what I wanted, with a lend from paperCoffee in giving me a goatee for "Evil Spock".


I did make a slight screw up, I forgot to put in Sulu... but that allowed me to include him in a different skin-set, so it works out well enough I suppose.

CTF at the Great Wall

Edited for 2 different UTDM-monsters, if I still had access to UnrealEd I'd probably eventually have edited for the only other kind I know of as well.

What we have here is a large map with two symmetrical sides which a large wall in-between them.

They're not exactly "bases" as both open areas have a lot of things in them but no singular individual structure.

The wall itself is massive, with various ways to get across it (above, below, and at ground level) with a couple surprises within it.

I first edited UTDMT (1 titan per team) onto it...

...before eventually doing a UTDMW (2 warlords per team) version as well. Although, in many respects, the UTDMT version can be the most deadly as a Titan throwing boulders in such an open space hits players like bowling pins.

Quite awhile ago, in ancient times, I had previously edited this map with UTDMT & UTDMW...

...so this seemed like a good idea, once I finally got the UTDMS version.

This happened a lot early on, as I didn't have all versions initially when I started doing these edits.


CTF conversion of DM-Agony, each team has a SkaarjBerserker defending their base.
